Post-16 courses - September 2010

The following courses are on offer to those students wishing to study in Devenish College from September 2010.

At A level students can study 3 courses in the College or choose to study 2 courses in the College and avail of another course offered through the Fermanagh Learning Community.

The following Level 3 courses (equivalent to A level) are offered in Devenish College:
Applied Science
Art and Design
Single Award Applied Business
Double Award Applied Business (equivalent to 2 A Levels)
Single Award Health and Social Care
Double Award Health and Social Care (equivalent to 2 A Levels)
Applied ICT
Media Studies
Psychology (AS)
Religious Studies
Sociology (AS)
Technology and Design

The following Level 3 courses may be studied at another school through links promoted under the auspices of the Fermanagh Learning Community:
Physical Education
Music
Government and Politics
Moving Image Arts

The following courses may be studied at the South West College under the auspices of the Fermanagh Learning Community. These courses are Level 3 Subsidiary Diplomas (equivalent to A levels):
Agriculture
Children’s Care and Learning
Computer Gaming
Construction
Enginering
Hospitality
Music Technology
Sport

BTEC Level 2 Diplomas (on offer in Devenish) – Constuction and Hospitality

Additional courses on offer include:
Certificate of Personal Effecitveness (COPE)
Young Enterprise Business Success Skills
European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL)
Shared Education Personal Development Programme (SEP)
ASDAN International Award
Millenium Volunteer Schools Award
Duke of Edinburgh Award

At present there are more than 112 students in Years 13 and 14. Students have access to a 6th Form centre comprising of a social area, kitchen and study area. All study periods are supervised by study supervisors.
