Celebrating exam success

Tuesday August 24, 2010

Staff at Devenish College joined students in once again celebrating success at Post 16 level with the students gaining just recognition for their hard work.

The Principal, Mr Mervyn Walker, congratulated everyone on their success and acknowledged that the motivation of the pupils, support of the parents and the quality of teaching led to a set of very pleasing results. Overall 73% of the grades achieved at ‘A2’ level were A, B or C.

There were many fine individual performances with Head Girl Grace Wallace achieving 2 A grades and an A* whilst Head Boy Simon Johnston was delighted with his 3 A grades. However the Principal was keen to point out that the year group deserved credit for the way they had committed themselves to their studies and that it was very pleasing for the staff to see students reach their full potential and contribute to the continued success of Post 16 courses at the College. After a long wait for results the students can now go on to the next stage in their chosen career path and everyone at Devenish College wishes them well.

At ‘AS’ level Karen Wray got 4 A and 1 B grade in her 5 courses whilst Katie Collum achieved 3 A and 1 B grade in her 4 courses.
