Ulster Athletics Finals

Devenish College was very well represented at the Ulster Athletics Finals at the Antrim Forum. As you can imagine the standard of athletics on display was of the highest standard.
Sasha Funston threw a PB in the shot to pick up 5th place in the Intermediate girls competition. Later that afternoon she also competed in the javelin picking up 7th place. Well done to Sasha for taking time out of her GCSE exam revision to represent Devenish College.
Ava Thompson ran a very competitive 800m race to finish in 7th position, despite feeling a little unwell on the day. Ava has been working hard with Enniskillen Running Club and her impressive form is a result of all her efforts.
Our year 8 girls relay team consisting of Kate, Ellie, Megan and Zara put in a fine effort in the relay. Although they did not qualify for the final this talented group of girls will surely be back at the Ulster finals again soon such is their focus and determination.
Thomas Little showed some good form in the High Jump finishing outside the medals. As a year 11 Thomas should be back next year to contest this age group again.
Congratulations to all our athletes who competed so well today and are all fantastic ambassadors for Devenish College.
